NSF MRI: New Solicitation, No Cost Share, New Deadlines
Dear Colleagues,
The National Science Foundation (NSF) has updated the solicitation for the Major Research Instrumentation (MRI) program. For the next five annual cycles, cost share is not allowed. (For many years, a cost share of exactly 30% has been required.)
UMBC has a strong record with the NSF MRI program, which has supported the establishment of many of UMBC's active shared research facilities.
The new solicitation continues to have an institutional limit on the number of proposals. We normally have an internal deadline several months ahead of the external deadline, but the new solicitation sets an external deadline less than three months from now (February 21st). Accordingly, we have set our internal deadline as December 21st.
We look forward to reviewing your internal proposals.
Sincerely,
—
