Keith Anderson to join UMBC as Associate Vice President for Research Operations

I am delighted to announce that Keith Anderson has been selected as Associate Vice President for Research Operations in the Division of Research and Creative Achievement.  He will start his appointment at UMBC on November 3, 2025.

Mr. Anderson comes to UMBC from the University of South Florida where he has worked since 2006. Prior to joining UMBC he was Associate Vice President for Research at the University of South Florida (USF), where he oversaw the Sponsored Research, Research Integrity & Compliance, and Institutional Research Effectiveness and Assessment areas. 

Mr. Anderson has held various roles in research administration at USF over the past 19 years including Director of Sponsored Research, University Export Control Officer, Research Integrity Officer and Interim Vice President for Research, Innovation & Knowledge Enterprise and Interim President and CEO of the USF Research Foundation. 

Mr. Anderson is an active member of the National Council of University Research Administrators (NCURA), the Council on Governmental Relations (COGR), and the Federal Demonstration Partnership (FDP), a cooperative initiative among 10 federal agencies and 217 research institutions. He holds a CRA certification from the Research Administrators Certification Council. He holds a master’s degree from Florida State University and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Central Florida. 

In 2025 he received the Distinguished Alumni Award from the College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences at Florida State University.
