UMB Institute for Clinical & Translational Research (ICTR) Announces Annual ATIP and CEnR Pilot Grant Opportunities

The UMB ICTR is pleased to announce two pilot grant funding opportunities: the Accelerated Translational Incubator Pilot (ATIP) Grant Program and the Community Engagement Research (CEnR) Pilot Grant Program.

1. The ATIP Grant program provides starter funds for projects specifically focused on innovative, translational research that involve multi-disciplinary and inter-disciplinary collaborations among faculty from the Schools of Dentistry, Graduate Studies, Law, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Social Work, UMBC, and UMCP.
2. The CEnR Pilot Grant program provides starter funds for projects specifically focused on innovative Community-Engaged Research (CEnR). This round will test novel approaches to addressing health problems through community-engaged implementation that involve faculty from the Schools of Dentistry, Graduate Studies, Law, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Social Work, UMBC, UMCP, and community partnerships.

To be considered for these funding opportunities, all proposals must be submitted electronically through the ICTR website by 5 PM EST November 6, 2026, with an Intent to Apply form due no later than October 16th, 2026.  You can access the application and find out more information regarding this funding opportunity by visiting the following links: ATIP Grant Program and CEnR Pilot Grant Program. This request for proposals provides 12 months of funding (May 1, 2027 – April 30, 2028) with awards of up to $50,000.
